Job Summary

Avyon Consulting Group is seeking a Blockchain Engineer to architect and deploy distributed ledger solutions for defense and government applications. This is a ground-floor opportunity to serve as the technical lead on a small team building products that don't exist yet in the federal space. You'll work directly with government stakeholders and shape the direction of a growing defense technology company.

Key Responsibilities

* Design, develop, and deploy Hyperledger Fabric blockchain networks for government use cases
* Build and maintain smart contracts (chaincode) and integrate them with existing enterprise systems
* Lead architecture decisions around consensus mechanisms, data privacy, and network security
* Translate mission requirements into technical solutions working directly with government customers
* Manage and mentor a small engineering team as the technical lead
* Evaluate and implement security protocols aligned with government cybersecurity standards

Minimum Qualifications

* Hands-on experience deploying Hyperledger Fabric in production environments
* Strong understanding of distributed systems, cryptography, and consensus protocols
* Proficiency in Go, Node.js, or Java for chaincode development
* Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
* Ability to work independently, make decisions, and ship code in a fast-moving environment
* US Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience with government or defense technology programs
* Familiarity with FedRAMP, NIST, or DoD cybersecurity frameworks
* Prior startup or small company experience
* Experience leading or mentoring engineering teams
* Security clearance or ability to obtain one
